Great Knife!!! its super sharp out of the box. i literaly tested it by shaving a small bit of hair on my arm and left it as bald as a barber knife would! i use it daily and its still sharp… best thing the 505 is made in he USA!!!!!!

3 Stars Comes nice and sharp, but is of questionable quality
This knife is a classic appearing wood inlaid folding knife which came very sharp. However, the steel quality is generally poor and the frame and lock is mediocre as well. I only got it because my son wanted something with that “look” and I couldnt find anything reasonalby priced with the wood grain inlay. So for the price, this is an acceptable knife. If you want quality, you will need to pay much more, for carbon steel type blade.

5 Stars durable beyond expectations
I took this knife camping a while ago, and cut a large hawthorn branch for a walking stick. By cut, I mean I pounded the edge through the branch with a rock. It cut cleanly, with no damage. I then used it to trim and carve the walking stick, and then cut very fine slits in around 200 bananas (don’t ask). The edge was still very sharp after all this abuse, and the knife cleaned up easily. It performs far beyond its price point. I’ll be purchasing my second, just for backup.

I have been using this tool daily for about a month. The pliers, Knife, screwdrivers all work great and are rugged enough for most daily chores. My only concern is that the wire cutters on the pliers will not cut braided electrical wire well.

The great thing about this multi-tool is that it works just like it’s advertised. You can do everything with just one hand, and working at an outdoor camp, that was a handy capability.

On the down side, this thing is fairly smooth in texture and had an uncanny ability of working its way out of my pocket and falling to the ground. Which is how I lost it.

Tool has only the essentials the are used most often – knife, pliers, flat and phillips screwdrivers and bottle/can opener. It’s not cluttered with useless features. Well made. I’ve used all the features and they can indeed be opened with one hand and, with the exception of the pliers, closed as well. A great value and highly recommended.

this product is listed as a 3″ blade everywhere else but Amazon lists it as 4.5, so I’m not sure. no one saying whether the blade is locking? or if it is a one handed release, if it is locking?

5 Stars pretty impressive one-hander.
I have three knives. The swiss army knife goes in the glove box. It has a corkscrew. That is a very important tool, and I have often been the only person able to provide one. I have a Ka-Bar that I take camping. It is the most useful camp knife on the planet. It hammers tent-pegs into the ground, it cuts everything, and — according to legend of the Ka-Bar name, it will protect you from larger carnivorous wildlife. It scares the grocer, however. And with good reason; it’s big.

The Buck X-Tract lives on my belt. I use the knife often, the pliers regularly (and despite their relatively small size they do an impressive job), and the screwdrivers lots. Though the handle, when the tools are deployed, feels a little hollow and flimsy, it has yet to prove so. And ever single tool opens with one hand, locks in place securely and automatically, and easily unlocks and closes with one hand. That’s pretty impressive.

This is a good looking knife with a sharp blade. It would be a perfect pocket knife if the handle were not so thick. The handle is 14mm wide. This is just enought to put a buldge in your pocket. By conteast a knife by Victornox with an identical length blade has a width of 9.5mm.

I’ve got an old Buck folding knife I bought for camping, back in… what was it? 1975 or so. Still rock solid.

Here is another one. Clearly Buck quality. Sharp as a razor. I learned to open it with one hand in about 20 minutes.

This little puppy will be around long after I am gone. May it always have a responsible owner.

Opens easy and is nice and sharp. Not as heavily made as some of my more expensive knives but for what you pay for this it is a lot of bang for the buck. The rubberized handle would make it a good choice for light fishing duty too.

This is a good looking knife that is not too big or too little. It is quite possible to open this knife one handed using the thumb stud, it just isn’t all that fast a process (about as fast as opening a standard pocket knife with two hands). Much smaller than my Gerber knife with nearly the same blade length. I got this for light duty camping work and it works fine for that. Haven’t decided if I like the clip on the handle yet (I might take it off).

3 Stars Not Good for XL Size Hand
Years ago I owned a standard 110 and bought this variant because I like the finger grip design. I wound up sending it back for an exchange. However, the 110FG is great for anyone with a S,M,or L glove size. If you have to buy an XL glove size, the 110FG is so uncomfortable it will make the knife feel unnatural in your hand. Instead of your fingers resting comfortably inside the finger grooves, they’ll press against the ridges as opposed to resting solely in the troughs. BOTTOM LINE: If you have a smaller hand, the 110FG is great. If you have an XL hand, go for the standard 110. It costs less and fits an XL hand nicely.

I have had this knife for a number of years. Had a regular 110 and someone lifted it from my dorm room desk drawer. When I replaced the 110 I got the Finger Groove model. I have used it for every task imaginable. Last Wednesday, I went hunting with a buddy of mine. I killed a good sized buck. He pulled out some folder that appeared to be a Star Wars prop. After several attempts to impress me with his “sharp” knife, I handed him my 110. He made one cut and handed it back to me after accidently poking it through the bucks stomach. He told me he had never used such a sharp knife. The interesting thing is that I had not sharpened the knife in nearly six months. I then proceeded to cape the buck like I was using a straight razor. Very, very impressive knife. Why would anyone buy anything else?

My husband recently lost his favorite stainless steel folding buck knife. (Buck 525 Gent Lockback Folding Knife ). It is very sleek and small and easy to lose, as he has lost 3 altogether, over the last 17 years. We searched in the city where we live and also searched in other states while on vacation driving from California to Ohio, and still couldn’t find this exact one. We even searched in the outdoor stores that carry buck knives. He had taken a metal detecter out in the back yard and even tried to find his. No luck.

I finally thought I’d try Amazon, and never dreamed I’d find it there, and when I did I was so excited! I ordered it and my husband was so happy!

4 Stars Great Buck Quality – larger than expected
This is a great knife. Of course it is, it’s a Buck Knife. I agree with some other posters though, it should be made in the USA. The Box came with a sticker on it saying “made in China”. (4/5 stars for that fact) The wood grain looks nice, but I think I like the black better.

The hard thing about buying online is not being able to see the product in person. Seems like a “DUH” thing to say, but it’s true. I have carried a Buck Companion (small 2 blade model) for 17 years and have loved it. I saw the Trio on Amazon and liked the 3 blades, but didn’t realize how much bulkier it is compared to the companion. Even looking at the dimensions in the specs, the differences seem minimal until you place it in your pocket. Maybe a picture showing all the models side by side would be appropriate. (I didn’t think to look for one before making the purchase.)

I have no complaints about the knife. Especially since I paid less for the Trio than I did for my Companion 17 years ago.

This is a great, solid pocket knife. The style is reminiscent of classic knives my grandfathers used, and I certainly appreciate that. I feel like this is a knife I can keep and pass down myself. Blades are firmly set, sharp and strong. Easy to unfold and place back. Feels good in my hand and sits nicely in my pocket. It IS made in China, as previous reviewers have said, but I don’t feel it has affected the quality of the product. As far as being a nice knife; it is, and that’s why I didn’t count off any stars for this otherwise unfortunate characteristic.

3 Stars On the heavy side
A little too heavy to be comfortable in my front pant’s pocket. Surprisingly heavy – but it’s basically a hunk of steel. Take the dimensions and think “chunk of steel”. Seems like it wouild be a nice camping knife though (but not backpacking due to the weight).

5 Stars Cub Scout blades
I am a Cub Scout leader and we purchased three of these knives last year to present to our Bear Cubs who earned their Whittlin’ Chip. The boys and their fathers were very pleased with our choice of blades.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed that the blades are made in China, but I’ve come to understand that Buck has moved manufacturing of their “low cost” blades to China in order to compete. As far as I can tell their high quality standards have not faltered, even on these $20 blades. They still come with Buck’s lifetime warranty.

This year I have fourteen Scouts earning their Whittlin’ Chip and I’m purchasing Buck Stockman knives for all of them.

I find it disturbing that nowhere in the product description does it say “made in China”. You don’t know until you get it home and open the blade. I’ve returned the three that I bought for gifts and will not buy another Buck product. There is a more expensive version of the stockman that shows an American Flag next to it on the website, this one should show a chinese flag. Anything less is false advertisement.

I purchased this knife for my son-in-law to replace a knife that he lost. He really likes the quality of this knife. The blades hold an edge well. He said he likes the feel of the knife when he uses it. This may be the best gift I have gotten him.

Very nice knife; looks to be very well made; reasonably priced; blades stainless — no rusty blades. This and another BUCK knife I have bought is the sharpest pocket knife I have ever bought; its pocket ready!

Good general purpose knife for most uses around the farm or home. Strong enough for light pruning, cutting flowers, whittling, and good enough to dress a deer. Nice grafting knife. Very similar to the smaller 0370 knife. A little heavy for a Sunday pocket knife! but a pleasure to own.
